WELCOME MESSAGE
Dr. Umaiyeh
Welcome to the 6th MENA Region Adolescent Health Conference
On behalf of the Arab Coalition for Adolescent Health and Medicine (ACAHM), we are excited to invite you to join us in Tunis, Tunisia, from 13-15 October 2025 for the 6th MENA Region Adolescent Health Conference. This conference marks a critical moment for reimagining the future of adolescent health in the MENA region, as we focus on shifting from challenges to actionable solutions.
Adolescence is a transformative stage, and in the MENA region, where youth make up a significant portion of the population, their health and well-being are foundational to the prosperity and stability of our societies. However, adolescents across the region face an array of complex and intersecting challenges – many of which are exacerbated by ongoing humanitarian crises. Armed conflicts and wars, displacement, economic instability, and social inequities have placed a heavy burden on young people’s physical, emotional, and mental well-being.
This year’s conference theme, “From Challenges to Solutions: A Holistic Approach to Adolescents’ Well-Being,” emphasizes the urgent need to address the unique challenges faced by adolescents in the MENA region. These young people are often caught in the crossfire of conflict, experiencing displacement, loss, disrupted education, and heightened risks to their health and safety.
Despite these challenges, these individuals also exhibit incredible resilience, and it is essential that we build on their strengths and empower them as leaders in shaping their health and future. The conference will provide a platform to share knowledge, explore evidence-based solutions, and promote cross-sectoral collaboration to ensure a comprehensive and sustainable approach to adolescent health in the region.
We invite professionals, youth leaders, policymakers, and academics from across the region and beyond to come together, exchange ideas, and collaborate on innovative solutions to address the pressing issues facing adolescents in MENA.
We look forward to welcoming you to Tunis, where we will engage in meaningful discussions and work together to advance adolescent health and well-being in the MENA region and beyond.
Warm Regards,
Dr. Umaiyeh Khammash
